The Simple Science Of Building A Unified TEAM

Yes, the boss can always; I mean most often think he/she can do it better than everyone else. The bottom line of a progressive-forward thinking organization is not driven by any one individual, it is driven through TEAMWORK.

“A group does not necessarily constitute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses”.

Teamwork

Team’s Hardwork

As a leader you must always put emphasis on appreciation of the TEAM’s hard work. You must always reinforce, what TEAM means- ‘Together everyone achieves more’. Continually reinforce the critical ‘MINDSET’ required when delivering your services to your clients. Continually remind the TEAM that you get paid to do the job right the first time; and that you must do it right the first time. Reinforce how the TEAM plays a critical role in the company’s success by delivering quality work consistently. Continually and respectfully remind the TEAM that it is sometimes only one time of poor performance or bad judgment that could cost the company a client.

Positive Reinforcement

Part of developing your company culture must come from positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement plays a big role in cultivating a work-performance ethic within teams. In a business environment if the organization’s management encourages the workforce to pursue tough challenges and to continually excel, this often serves as a positive reinforcing cycle that drives better performance overall. Encouragement received from a well-respected influence such as the owner-operations manager or senior supervisor is a reinforcement that spurs teams to go after results.

In conclusion, the reinforcement theory adds another dimension to motivation.
Reinforcement conditions behavior and is beneficial in organizations that are striving to cultivate, foster and sustain high performance in their teams. Similarly, rewarded behavior is also more likely to be repeated.

Therefore, verbal or written reinforcement or any form of recognition serves as a reinforcing cycle that can drive a team to constantly perform better. A progressive culture is one which is energized by creativity, collaboration and has an environment of both ‘Teaching & Learning’- In closing…..GO TEAM!
