This Thursday, November 27th, 2014 In households across the country, families will be sitting down with family and friends to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. The thanksgiving holiday is not about retail sales or a day off from work, it is to give thanks for the many blessings we have to celebrate in our lives. While most of us will be counting our blessings, we must not forget to share our gratefulness for the service of our men and women in uniform and their families for the many sacrifices made to keep our Nation safe. These men and women put our safety in front of all other obligations in life. They not only sacrifice their safety, they must endure the separation from there families and loved ones on only on this day, but for many days, months and even sometimes years. For this I say….
Because I am not in your shoes, I know I will never fully appreciate the sacrifices you make for me, your family, your friends and your country every day. However, I am especially reflective of my gratitude this holiday season. I realize your sacrifice is made even greater during this time away from your loved ones. It is because of your sacrifices that I am able to enjoy our freedoms. So with a great degree of sincerity and humility, I say simply, “thank you” for all you’ve done and continue to do for me, my family, my friends and our country.
Sincerely,
Steven & Melannie Cohen & Family
I ask all my LinkedIn friends to remember; as you sit down to your Thanksgiving Day meal this Thursday, I ask that you bow your head in prayer and simply say ‘thank you’ to the 1.46 million active military personal for their incredible selfless contributions made every day on behalf of our great country.
